The Recipes Every Gal Should Have

I am a believer that there are some recipes you should just have up your sleeve. Every girl needs to outfit her cooking arsenal with a few recipes that in fact, need no recipe at all.

Commit these to your memory, and you'll be prepared for most last minute cooking needs.

A breakfast casserole recipe (for the house guest that never leaves)

A signature pasta dish (for the lazy girlfriend/fiance/wife/single gal in you)

A roast chicken (there is no reason, you should just be able to do it)

A no fail cake (to win hearts and drop panties.... err pants!)

And Hummus (for dipping, of course.)


Hummus

2 cups cooked chickpeas, liquid reserved and set aside
1 tsp kosher salt, or to taste
4 garlic cloves
1/3 Cup tahini
7-8 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 Tbsp reserved chickpea liquid
4 drops of Tabasco sauce
Olive oil
Paprika

Place all ingredients into a food processor and process until the hummus is coarsely pureed.

Scoop into a bowl and drizzle with a good quality olive oil and garnish with paprika. BAM. Just like that.  Now go ahead and put that recipe in your pocket.

And be so glad I got a camera that can take an actual photo.  Man, those old ones up top are BEAT UP!
