Oh Snap. Crackle. Pop.

I am not going to lie.  The idea of those little midget men in my rice krispies has always sort of freaked me out.  I mean, they are like smurfs and keebler elves combined.  I do not want that shit in my cereal.

It reminds me of the one time I lost my first tooth.  My mom told me all about the tooth fairy, and at night when she came to tuck me in, she found that I had put my tooth and my pillow outside of my bedroom door.  She looked at me puzzled, when I simply responded, "Well, I don't want that fairy flying around my head!"

And now, I don't want you in my cereal - snap crackle and popping.  Stay out, little people.  Or I'll trap you, inside of a rice krispie treat.

Peanut Butter Hell.  That will teach you to climb inside my cereal box.

Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats

3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 package (10 oz.) regular marshmallows
1/2 cup peanut butter
6 cups Rice Krispies
8 ounces semisweet chocolate

In large saucepan melt butter over low heat.

Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
Stir in peanut butter until melted.

Add Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.

Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray.

Once cooled, melt the chocolate by microwaving in 30 second increments, stirring each time until the chocolate is melted.

Pour and spread to cover the rice krispie treats.

Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares. Best if served the same day.

Ohhhh, Snap. (crackle pop.)

How you like me now, elf?

Love,

Whit
